I registered and received a welcome email, but it didn't contain an activation link and I cannot log into a specific forum besides this one.
Please help,
David
David,
I checked your account and you have still not finished the activation process. I resent your activation codes to the email you had on record. Follow the link to activate your account. That will allow you to become a registered member of the forums - however, that will not allow you to post or read the majority of the information here.
In order to do that you must become a paid subscriber to the forums. To do that click on "User CP" at the top left of the screen, then scroll down to "Paid Subscriptions" on the left side of the screen. Select the "Club Columbia Membership" one-year or two-year option and pay using your PayPal account or using a credit card with PayPal as the transaction vendor. Alternately, just click here (http://www.lancairpilots.org/payments.php) after you have finished the email activation and it will take you to the right spot to select and pay for the membership.
Post again if you have trouble. We look forward to having you as a member!

I am a paid member but I can't get onto the forum.
Joe, for some reason your account switched to another category. Your membership expires in September of 08.
I've corrected your account status and you should be back in business. Sorry for the inconvenience! Thanks for letting us know about it!
Tim
For some reason I cannot post. I believe I am current. Please help my user name is 681CM.

What error are you getting? And how are you trying to post? Ie. which URL you are on, what buttons you are clicking on and what does the browser say? So we can troubleshoot.
I have just checked the site and your account is in good standing and all permissions check ok. Ie. as far as our website software is concerned, you are allowed to post. Note your user title says "Club Columbia Member" for example (proxy for "you can post" :))
Bogdan,
I sent Bill an email earlier with the same information. I couldn't find anything that would inhibit his posting. Perhaps it is just an isolated incident.
I too was denied posting privaleges although I am a paid up member. Why is this?

Bob, your membership just expired yesterday. All you need to do is go to the user control panel and renew your membership and you will be back in business. Send me an email or private message if you have trouble.
Take care,
Thanks for the message. I didn't realize my subscription was up because I THOUGHT I had renewed it last September. I did renew on line today and printed a receipt showing the credit card transaction was accomplished. Hopefully, this clears up the problem.
Regards, Bob Woodberry
No problem. Glad to have you back!

Some of your members attended and made a presentation at the Cessna sales meeting in Bend last week. There was a strong suggestion that this forum would be a good place to learn and make friends in your comunity.
I do not own or intend to buy a 350/400 but may be still be useful here. My background included spending 6 years as the marketing director at Glasair, then at Cessna for 5 years. I took a few years off and recently accepted a position in Washington State as the salesman for the Cessna dealer.
My hope is that I could learn a lot and be able to ask a few question. In exchange I might be able to help members find there way around the Cessna system. I would also like to introduce myself to 300/350/400 owners and pilots in Washington State.
Unfortunately I can't seem to access the members list or post. Can you help me? Thanks.
Bill Sprague
Welcome Bill! We're glad to have you join us and will help you in any way possible.
In order to post or access the members list, you must be a paid member of Cessna Advanced Aircraft Club. It is a very modest investment of $50 annually and is well worth it for anyone with even a remote connection to our aircraft. To join, simply follow this link (http://www.lancairpilots.org/payments.php), select the membership from the drop down list and follow the instructions to pay using PayPal as the transaction vendor. Once you have followed the PayPal link, you can pay using PayPal or any credit card. Please email me or post another message if you are having trouble and I will make sure you get taken care of.
Take care and welcome to the club!
Tim
I updated the profile info you requested and now am being denied access to forums, getting bogus messages about my inbox being full etc. I renewed my membership a few days ago and received confirmation of same. What do I do now? (I didn't have these problems until today when I updated the profile info you requested).

I figured it out. My E mail change required a new activation. I have done that and everything appears to work now, so please disregard my last.

Bob,
I'm glad you got everything figured out! Thanks for posting, that will no doubt help someone else in the future.

Tim,
Have you closed the forums to the public? They show "private" on my screen and unavailable for reading.
WannabeEd
WannabeEd,
You are unregistered. If you want to read the forums you need to register (http://www.lancairpilots.org/register.php) and then confirm your email address.
In order to post or search, you will need to join (http://www.lancairpilots.org/payments.php) our club by paying the $50 annual membership.

I registered, but still got the "private". When I tried to re-register, the following came up: That username is already in use. If you are Ed Marshall and you have forgotten your password, click here.

Having same problem here. Remember following link through to verify email, and have password originally established. Should I try to repeat verification process?
Thanks,
Sean
Sean,
I checked and your account is showing that you have already been verified. I am going to email you through the system with my cell number. If you have trouble, please call me.

Tim,
I've tried to post three times today, when I preview post everything I've written vanishes. Also i can only stay logged in for 15min or so--which is aggrevating. I posted once when i joined but can't anymore. Maybe the two problems are related--when I hit Preview Post it kicks me back to log in. Help me OBEWON--I mean Tim--your my only hope...

I was unsuccessful logging in eight times - but finally got it to work by checking the "remember me" box.
I keep getting an error that says something is wrong. I can only view this part of the forum. Please advise what I need to do or change.
Thank you.

Tim,
The "remember me" box does not work for me. After about 15min on the forum if I change threads it kicks me back to log in again.
Bob,
You should be able to read all threads but not post in them. Registered members can read but not post or search while paid members can do it all.
I highly encourage you to join (http://www.lancairpilots.org/payments.php) now so you can fully participate in our club.
Take care and let me know if I can do anything to help you.
Jeff,
I'll be calling you to see if we can figure out what is going on.

I was never able to get the "Remember me" to work using Internet Explorer 6.0, and I was also getting kicked out after some time period (which is particularly annoying when you have spent some time typing in a long post - I quicky learned to make sure I selected the whole text of what I typed and copy it to the clipboard, just in case).
Then Mozilla Firefox was installed on my box when I assented to upgrading RealPlayer, and now I use Firefox to visit Cessna Advanced Aircraft Club, and "remember me" works fine.

Hello Tim,
I changed my browser bookmark to the new CAAC url this morning and was able to log-in using my existing user name and password. This afternoon and evening I was unable to log in. I get the non-member screen, enter my log-in info, get the member welcome screen for 5 seconds, and then the non-member intial screen returns. However, returning to the lancairpilots url does work. Why the discrepancy?
Thanks, Bruce McGregor

The discrepency is caused by the way the server and site handle cookies and domain name information. We are going to be consolidating our url's to one in the very near future and that will solve the problem once and for all.
Hello,
User jturbek. I can l;ogin to the forums but cant post or doewnload pictures that are posted. I believe my subscription is current.
Thx,
John
John,
Your subscription expired in September of 2007.
Anyone who is having the same trouble can click on "Membership" in the menu above to check the status of their subscription. If your subscription is active, it will show up under "Active Subscriptions" and you will see an expiration date. If you can't find the "Membership" link in the menu, click here (http://www.lancairpilots.org/payments.php) and it will take you there.

Tim,
I believe my membership is paid up but today I started getting the following warning on the top of the screen:
"You are currently enjoying a limited 90-day trial membership to Cessna Advanced Aircraft Club.
Trial members may read all of the public forums but may only post in the Non-Member Forum.
In order to enjoy the full benefits of membership, click here to join now!"
No need to worry Harvey. I'm putting the final touches on the trial membership setup and I have a little clean-up to do in the membership database. You shouldn't see that much longer.
Thanks for the heads-up!
*Update* I've finished the clean-up. If anyone has a current paid membership and is still seeing the notice regarding the trial, please post a note so I can take a look.
