View Full Version : I feel so ... forgotten

Every time I log in I click the "Remember Me?" checkbox, hoping that this time it really will remember me so I don't have to log in over and over. But it never does.
Is there something wrong with my browser, or cookies, or something that keeps it from working, or does everyone have the same experience?
Thanks,
Barry

The site is cookie-based. Check that your browser allows cookies and that you have cookies from lancairpilots.org or clubcolumbia.org (depending which one you used). This is how the "remember" part works. :)

Bogdan,
I looked in my cookies folder and among the thousands in there, I saw two with "lancair" in them (all the ones with columbia in them were from flycolumbia). I deleted both the cookies with "lancair" in the name to try to start fresh. Now a new one has been created that ends in lancairpilots[1].txt.
I put the contents of it below, and I see it has a bbpassword section, but it still doesn't remember me. Maybe I have an Internet Explorer setting that is somehow stopping that.
Thanks for the hint, though.
Barry

In the interest of divide-and-conquer, you could try a different browser (I use Firefox) and try going to lancairpilots.org instead of clubcolumbia. That will start from scratch. If that works, try clubcolumbia next. If still works, switch back to IE and wipe all lancairpilots and clubcolumbia cookies then try lancairpilots again. Then clubcolumbia if things still work. If they break when you switch to IE and with no cookies, it's remotely possible an IE setting is at fault although I'd rather suspect some antivirus tool instead. Do you have a "Privacy protector" software installed? Like Norton Internet Security and alike (as opposed to the regular Norton Antivirus). These tend to tinker with the cookies themselves by placing them into "quarantine", removing them, etc. Very annoying stuff.

Thanks Bogdan,
I'll give it a try.
